Mission: To provide high-quality climate information tailored to meet the needs of individual citizens and decision-makers in Oklahoma. Goals are:

• Update and maintain climate data records
• Develop web-based and PC-based tools to access climate records
• Respond to requests for climate data, including specialized data sets
• Produce routine climate summaries and post-event analyses
• Research historical climate and extreme weather events to provide a documented, detailed history of Oklahoma's climate
• Analyze policies (federal, state, and local) that impact the Weather Center community
• Develop consortia of academics and practitioners to address local weather-related hazards
• Engage in climate-related research to benefit citizens and
  decision-makers in Oklahoma

Climate Services
Climate services are more than simply providing climate data. Climate Services provide context, interpretation, and analysis to meet the needs of individuals in their daily decision-making activities. OCS provides routine, written summaries of weather and climate events as well as one-on-one interaction with Oklahomans to meet their particular needs. Our staff of climatologists document particular circumstances to resolve insurance claims, provide analyses of mean and extreme climate patterns for planning construction activities, and assist agencies in planning for Oklahoma’s seasonal and longer-term climate variability and change. Climate Data
OCS archives statewide weather data from a host of networks, including the National Weather Service cooperative observer network and the Oklahoma Mesonet. These data are used to make the climatological products herein. Select from our normals and extremes, rainfall update, or monthly summaries.
