Harold Brooks and the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) have created a contoured U.S. map of the average number of 1.25-inch hail days per year within 25 miles of any point from 1990-2009. Data has been provided, in part, by Tom Grazulis of the Tornado Project and NWS records.
